BG Welcomes New Lawyer Paul-Kalvin Collins to Washington, D.C. Office

Bailey Glasser is pleased to announce Paul-Kalvin Collins has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a lawyer in its national Commercial & Environmental Litigation Practice Group.

Cary Joshi, Bailey Glasser’s Commercial & Environmental Litigation Practice Group Leader, stated: “Congratulations to our newest D.C. attorney, Paul-Kalvin Collins. Paul-Kalvin brings unique work experience from his previous career and education that will be valuable to the clients we serve.”

As part of the Commercial and Environmental Litigation team, Paul-Kalvin will represent clients in complex, high-stakes litigation across the full spectrum of business interests. He will also be assisting in matters with the firm’s corporate practice group, which handles corporate and commercial transactional matters of many kinds.

Paul-Kalvin is a 2023 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, and while a law student he served as a law clerk and summer associate with Bailey Glasser, as well as a summer law clerk in the Civil Division of the D.C. Superior Court.

Paul-Kalvin previously was the Director of Urban Teachers, an alternative teacher preparation program located in Baltimore, Maryland and has more than 10 years of educational leadership experience.

Bailey Glasser Announces Elevation of Lorren Patterson to Partner

Bailey & Glasser, LLP is delighted to announce that California and Washington, D.C. corporate attorney Lorren L. Patterson has been elevated to partner. Lorren is a member of our Corporate Practice Group, where she focuses her practice on complex transactions and strategic corporate advice for private and public companies, closely held family offices, state entities, and business owners. Her transactional work involves a variety of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracting, governance, corporate finance, private equity and other business transactions in addition to intellectual property matters.

Lorren has been recognized as a Best Lawyers Ones to Watch in Banking and Finance Law, Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Law, and Corporate Law in Washington, D.C. in 2024. She was also named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in the District of Columbia in Business/Corporate in 2022 and 2023.

“Congratulations to Lorren on her well-deserved promotion to partner at Bailey Glasser,” said Jonathan Deem, the firm’s Corporate Practice Group Leader. “Lorren has proven to be a key team member of our corporate group on some of our most complicated matters, and she will bring invaluable contributions to the firm and the clients we serve in her new role as a partner.”

Notably, Lorren is a member of the Bailey Glasser team that serves as outside general counsel to the West Virginia Investment Management Board (WVIMB), an independent state entity charged with investing over $25 billion of state and local public moneys. Last year, the team assisted the WVIMB in closing over $900 million in investments held in private equity, real estate, hedge and private credit pools.

Illinois Judge Elizabeth Hoskins Dow Rejoins Bailey Glasser

Bailey & Glasser, LLP is proud to announce that Elizabeth (Lissa) Hoskins Dow has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Commercial and Environmental Litigation Practice Group. Lissa returns to Bailey Glasser after serving since 2015 as an Associate Judge for the 12th Judicial Circuit of Illinois in the Family and Civil Jury Trial divisions.

As a member of the firm’s Commercial and Environmental Litigation group, Lissa will provide strategic guidance, counseling, and innovative solutions for our clients across a full spectrum of business interests and industries, including finance and energy. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Lissa was the partner-in-charge of Bailey Glasser’s Illinois office.

“I’m delighted to return to Bailey Glasser and am looking forward to getting back to work on behalf of our clients. It’s exciting to see how the firm has grown and with it, our ability to collaborate across offices and teams,” she said.

Brueckner, a seasoned and successful litigator who has won legal victories in the nation’s highest courts, has joined national law firm Bailey & Glasser, LLP as a partner, where she will co-lead the firm’s Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Group with firm co-founder Benjamin A. Bailey.
